Yard Of Concrete – Cement is not too dark, to begin with, and may disappear over time, especially if it is an outdoor surface, such as a patio. If you want to change the color of your cement, you can do it with concrete acid dye. This will really change the color of the cement – unlike the paint, which only covers the surface of the cement and eventually the chip, acid stain penetrates and joins with the cement to change its color.

Allow the acid stain to dry. Bubble, fizz and leave a residue while you work and while it dries, this is normal. Mix 1/2 pound of baking soda in 5 gallons of water. Mop the yard with this solution to neutralize the acid. Keep remnants until the patio leaves full. Apply a concrete sealer on the stain. Sealants can usually be laminated, brushed or sprayed onto the surface of the concrete, see the packaging for detailed instructions by the manufacturer. Allow sealer to dry completely before placing patio furniture.
